Stuart Florida has it all.
Martin County’s Communities Have All the Comforts of Home.
Located on Florida’s east coast lays a community that truly has it all. With all the conveniences of a big city, but still a quaint southern community, Stuart Florida has everything you need to enjoy the very best of life. Stuart is bordered by the St. Lucie River to the North and of the Indian River to the east. The climate is pleasant with mild winters and warm summers. Stuart is famed for its sport fishing and has gained the title of “Sailfish Capital of the World”. The North and South forks of the St. Lucie River are renounced tropical wonderlands for cruises. Stuart’s Downtown area has a pleasant ambiance and is lined with shops and restaurants. The town was incorporated in 1925 as the county seat of Martin County.
Palm City, Stuart Florida’s sister city, is an unincorporated town located in Martin County, governed by the Martin County Board of County Commissioners. Martin County is divided into 5 districts. Palm City is represented as part of District 5.
All governmental functions are carried out by the Martin County offices. Police protection is provided by the Eastern County Operations Division of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Fire and EMS services are provided by Martin County Fire Rescue.
Martin County residents get most of their electric service from Florida Power & Light (FPL). FPL has kept its typical residential customer bills among the very lowest of all 55 electric utilities in Florida. It has done so by investing in more efficient power generation technology than its competitors. FPL’s operating costs are the lowest of all utilities in the country with more than 100,000 customers. These improvements saved FPL customers approximately half a billion dollars in fuel costs in 2010 alone. FPL has saved more megawatts than nearly any other utility in the country.
When it comes to what attracts most people to the Stuart and Palm City area, Golf is the name of the game. Golfers of all skill levels and experience are drawn to the rolling courses and beautiful surroundings of Palm City. No matter how you wish to spend your day, there are enough greens to keep even the most vivid golfer entertained. Be it a beautifully design public course or an exclusive private club with all of the amenities, you will find it in the surroundings of Palm City, Florida.
The communities natural resources really begin at its coastline. You can enjoy this natural scene with a walk on Stuart’s beaches, hunting for shells during a day of “fun in the sun,” taking advantage of the waves or windsurfing at a local causeway. Kick off your shoes and let the sand sift between your toes.
The Stuart and Palm City area offers its visitors and residents alike some of the finest beaches on the east coast. Officials and residents have worked to assure access to the Atlantic Ocean and various river parks as another way to “Enjoy Our Good Nature”.
